Texas drought

The long term drought in Texas has had some mention in the media over the last few months with good reason.  It is severe.  But nothing is permanent in weather other than the fact that it changes.   The first map is the drought map.   The second map is the amount of rain Texas has received over the last week.

Env. Can. stick yer head out the window.

Their latest forecast for Ottawa, released at 3:30 PM, a half an hour ago at time of writing:

Tonight, 16 May: Rain ending after midnight then cloudy. Low 9.

Anyone sticking their head out the window would know that the rain has already pretty much stop.  Even looking at the Env. Can. radar image would give a clue...

Climate Alarmism du jour...

You may have noticed recent news articles about collapsing Antarctic icesheets.   Here I present some graphs and a map as counterpoint.  Please tell me how decreasing sea temperatures (first graph), steadily increasing sea ice levels (second graph and map) and stable air temperatures can co-exist with an apparent melting glacier???   Things that make you go hmmmmm.

Enjoy the warmth...

The next week or so is going to be warmer than normal (first map), if wet at times.   Hopefully that'll kickstart the growing season.   Because following that will be a shot of colder air that'll spread east.  Thankfully the coldest air will be centered over the center of the continent (second map) where the prairies may get some snow next week (third map).
